e-flux video rental The New York-based e-flux is an artist-run information bureau dedicated to worldwide distribution of information for contemporary visual arts institutions via the Internet, and is the most frequently used service of its kind. Over 50 internationally renowned curators each chose a selection of video works by contemporary artists for the e-flux video rental, which grants a unique public access to a large and continually growing inventory of video art works. For KW's term as hosting institution some ten to fifteen international curators and artists associated with KW were invited to propose new additions to the collection, in this way permanently expanding an inventory which at present amounts to some five hundred contemporary video works. The collection's art films and video works will be on public loan free of charge for home viewing, and the newly established video library in the KW Project Room will further offer a screening facility during its opening hours of 3-8pm (daily except Monday). As of May 2005, when an outdoor cinema specially designed by the architectural firms Le Balto and INSTANT opens in the KW garden, the institute's courtyard will be the venue for regular film screenings and presentations by the participating curators and artists of selected works from the e-flux video rental. We will keep you informed on the details of open-air screenings and events. E-flux video rental opens at 8pm on March 5, 2005 with presentations in the project room and Café Bravo by the two organizers of the New York project, Julieta Arenda and Anton Vidokle, who will show a selection of eleven works from the collection (including works by Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla, Wilson Diaz, Judith Barry, Corinna Schnitt, Jozef Robakowski, Jakup Ferri).
